I once wondered what people meant when they said "Love Cost". Others tend to say "Love don't cost a thing". Well, I would like to ponder, how much does love cost? Some people have paid with embarrassment, heartache and pain; others have paid with their life. I believe it is important to think twice before telling someone you love them without knowing the meaning of the word.
The hope for real love without selling your soul is something many go through life chasing until they find their one true love. Even the animals that thread the earth seek others like themselves to settle down so they may replenish the earth; much like humans. We all have to pay something for what we desire. Even things that are free in this world cost something to obtain it. You either pay with physical body energy to move about to retrieve the free item. If you have to drive to pick-up the free item, you pay with burning gas that need to be replaced.
Let's face it, love cost! It is important to remember the lessons being taught as you move from relationship to relationship. What were the ideals learned about yourself and the other person? I would like to contend you spent some time out of your life, finances and emotions. How much did it cost? Did you as a result of your purchase buy back some grey-hair or gained a belly roll or two. Kidding aside, some people have paid and purchased in return emotional and physical scars; some unfortunately with their life.
I have a solution for all whom are paying for love and reaping short gains on their returns. Start learning how to love without looking for anything in return. This is a hard teaching I know. Yet, it is also hard to continue the same cycle of hurt, disappointment and unwanted afflicted depression everyday of your life. It is my opinion that when you love people without looking for something in return, you will suffer less disappointment. I have heard while growing up from my parents or family members that "love is a two-way street" in relationships however, this type of thinking opens the door for hurt.
Love isn't love when we are looking for something in return from the other person. Real love will open your eyes to discern the real person inside of the one you seek to love. Further helping you to see the qualities and character of a person. Then you can better choose the right mate that fits your relationship goal. You can start living free today and not be entangled with unequally-yoked friends and partners. Remember to love beyond physical bodies!
